A BIG thank you to Ogden of Harrogate
Who put on a fantastic evening for the 'Private Client Ladies Network'. Ogden a Harrogate based family owned jewellers which still retains a traditional workshop entertained the ladies with champagne laced with gold leaf, a sumptuous array of canapes. We were able to try on a wide range of jewellery from cutting edge designers such as Stephen Webster and Ogden's own team. We also got to sample their antique collection including the famous Ogden tiaras which are leant out to customers who have bought wedding rings from the shop.
After trying on large diamond rings we were treated to hand massages, and given a tour of the workshop. Any ladies with jewellery were treated to it being cleaned and polished. It was amazing to go behind the scenes and see how apprentice trained master goldsmiths create sumptuous pieces.
Back in the shop, Ogden organised a charity raffle with a difference - each lady 'bought' a stone paper for the price of a raffle ticket, 99 of the stones were cubic zirconia but one was a high quality diamond.
This was a real opportunity to see a slice of history - the Ogden family have been jewellers for generations (the shop opened in 1893) and even helped with the identification of artifacts at the opening of Tutankahmun's tomb.
