Georgiana Head has been helping a local job club in Ilkley. The club located at Christchurch in Ilkley is helping individuals who have been made redundant find new roles. It helps jobseekers on a very pratical level offering advice on CV preparation and interview skills and giving access to newspapers and to the internet. Launching on Thursday 8th of January the job club will offer support to job seekers in the local region.
Georgiana Head has been preparing fact sheets and advice on such areas as: 'Interview Preparation', 'CV Writing', 'Covering Letters' and even 'Starting up a New Business'.
As Georgiana says; 'The job club is trying to do something positive about the redundancies in our local area, businesses like Woolworths have shut down, and we are aiming to help staff get back into employment. If anyone locally wants to offer help and support or tell us about local vacancies we would be very grateful. The club offers a free service, with no strings attached and the aim is to support our local community. Brian Scott is doing stirling work getting this off the ground. '
Brian Scott is running the club which is open from 2 to 4pm every Thursday at Christchurch the Grove Ilkley. For more information call Brian on 01943 602 873
